Vilano Beach is the quieter side of St. Augustine, just north of the Usina Bridge, with the Atlantic on one side and the Intracoastal Waterway on the other. This house sits a few blocks in from both, on a residential street shaded by live oaks.
THE MAIN LEVEL
The front door opens onto a hand-painted sea turtle mural and then into a bright, connected living space. The kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking: electric range and oven, dishwasher, side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water, farmhouse sink, coffee maker, blender and toaster, with generous counter and cabinet space. A long farmhouse table with chairs and bench seating anchors the dining area, and the living room beyond has a wall-mounted TV, a ceiling fan and sliding doors onto the rear deck and pool.
A queen suite sits on this level with its own bathroom and tiled walk-in shower. Across the way is the third bedroom, with a queen bed, a wall-mounted TV and a ceiling fan. A third full bathroom with a tub and shower combination opens off the living area, which matters when the house is full. The laundry room holds a full-size washer and dryer.
UPSTAIRS
The second suite has a king bed and its own en-suite bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower and a separate water closet, plus a dedicated desk and chair for anyone working part of the trip. The landing at the top of the stairs is a small sitting room of its own, with a futon and a second mural.
OUTSIDE
The pool is what guests mention most, and it is genuinely heated rather than nominally so. It sits in a fully fenced paver courtyard with four loungers, a shaded seating area and a gas grill along the side path. An outdoor shower deals with the sand before it reaches the house, and pool floats, beach chairs, boogie boards and a beach wagon are all here for you.
Out front, a covered porch with ceiling fans holds a round dining table for four and a lounge seating area, which is the right place to be with coffee before the beach. Parking is free and off-street on the paver driveway. The fenced yard means the dog can come too - up to two are welcome.
